On 22 October, the meeting of civil society representatives, Ukrainian officials and the European Commission’s representatives took place in Kyiv in the frames of structured consultations on the future of the Eastern Partnership (EaP).
Chair of the Center for Public Diplomacy Andrii Vitrenko who has joined the event considers that the EaP as a forum for multilateral dialogue opened a lot of opportunities in addressing some important issues between the EU and the Partner Countries in the last 10 years. However, the new current challenges require the new approaches in developing further relations. «Today we should talk about the need to develop a new format of cooperation for the countries that became closer to European standards in the frames of the Association Agreements, in particular Ukraine. The security issue which, unfortunately, remains beyond the framework of the Eastern Partnership format currently should be also brought to the agenda».
