On 19 February, the experts of the Center for Public Diplomacy joined the public discussion «The Eastern Partnership and Ukraine: looking back, thinking ahead» at which the Ukrainian part of the EU ISS (EU ISS – European Union Institute for Security Studies) and the New Europe Center research “The Eastern Partnership a decade on: looking back, thinking ahead” was presented.
The authors of research emphasized the need to form more differentiated approach to the EU cooperation with the Eastern Partnership countries in future, considering their individual achievements and ambitions for the future, as well as the need to deepen cooperation in security dimension of relations, in view of the new challenges faced by Ukraine, in particular, in 2014 after the illegal annexation of Crimea and the beginning of war in Donbas with the Russian Federation. It was also mentioned that it would be important for Ukraine to get clearer signals from Brussels how the continued profound cooperation in the EaP format will approximate our country to the full-fledged membership in the European Union in the foreseeable future.
