CPD will hold the public event on fighting against propaganda in Kherson

CPD will hold the public event on fighting against propaganda in Kherson
Розповісти друзямРозповісти друзям

Why does the return of Crimea and Donbas directly depend on Ukraine’s proper information policy? Why does keeping the Ukrainians informed about the EU and NATO prevent from distributing fakes? How does Lithuania counter Russian propaganda? Why are people manipulated and deceived by fake news and disinformation in general? How to understand that others including the politicians are lying to you (via examples)?

On July 24 in Kherson the Center for Public Diplomacy – in compliance with all quarantine security measures – will carry out the seminar “Disinformation as an instrument of hybrid warfare: aspects of its spread and possibilities to counter propaganda” for representatives of local authorities, civil society and mass media.

Venue: Kherson City Council, 37 Ushakova Pr.

Time: 09:30 – 14:00

Speakers:

Mr. Volodymyr MYKOLAIENKO, Mayor of Kherson;

Mr. Andrii VITRENKO, Chair of the Center for Public Diplomacy, Vice Minister of Culture for European Integration (2014-2016);

Ms. Natalya-Danute ANTANO BIMBIRAYTE, Board Chair of the Kherson city public organisation “Cultural Centre Ukraine-Lithuania”;

Ms. Neringa BLIŪDŽIŪTĖ, Strategic communication consultant, Founder of “WoW. World of words” (via video conferencing);

Ms. Iryna ZHOVTA, Chief Specialist of the European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Division of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine;

Mr. Andrii SHCHEKUN, Director of the Information Centre “Voice of Crimea”, Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper “Krymska Svitlytsya”;

Ms. Natalka SAD, Expert on Communications, Board Member of the Center for Public Diplomacy;

Ms. Dar’ya HLUSHCHENKO, Speechwriter Analyst, Head of Communications Department at the Ukrainian National Bar Association.

The event is held in cooperation with the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, the Kherson City Council, in partnership with the «Cultural Centre Ukraine-Lithuania» and funded under the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.

We’ve taken into account everything – masks, antiseptics, safe social distancing. Come and join our discussion just like in the “old” pre-quarantine days.
