The final regional CPD seminar on fight against disinformation  will take place in Mykolayiv

Who’s susceptible to disinformation and propaganda? How does Lithuania counter Russia’s information aggression? Which are the tools in the fight against hybrid threats? What are the causes of Ukraine’s first defeats at the information front, and how to achieve the victory in the information war? How to evaluate information sources and to check facts?

On September 23 in Mykolayiv the Center for Public Diplomacy – in compliance with all quarantine security measures – will carry out the final regional seminar “Disinformation as an instrument of hybrid warfare: aspects of its spread and possibilities to counter propaganda” for representatives of local authorities, civil society and mass media.

Venue: Conference Hall Drawing Room CEGLA, 122 Tsentralnyi Pr., Mykolayiv

Time: 09:30 – 14:00

Speakers:

Mr. Oleksandr SENKEVYCH, Mayor of Mykolayiv;

Mr. Valdemaras SARAPINAS, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine (via video conferencing);

Mr. Andrii VITRENKO, Chair of the Center for Public Diplomacy, Vice Minister of Culture for European Integration (2014-2016);

Dr. Ignas KALPOKAS, Expert on Information Security, Associate Professor of Public Communication at Vytautas Magnus University and Assistant Professor of International Relations and Development at LCC International University (via video conferencing);

Ms. Victoria GROMOVA, Deputy Head of the Television and Radio Broadcasting, European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Department of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine;

Mr. Valerii DYMOV, Director of the Center for Public and Information Technologies “Forum”;

Dr. Maksym KYIAK, Expert of the Foreign Policy Council «Ukrainian Prism»;

Ms. Dar’ya HLUSHCHENKO, Speechwriter Analyst, Head of Communications Department at the Ukrainian National Bar Association.

The event is held in cooperation with the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, the Mykolayiv City Council, in partnership with the Educational Platform CEGLA, and funded under the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
