On April 20, the Academic Director of the Center for Public Diplomacy Oleksii Polegkyi took part in the program «Dobryi vechir» at the KYIV.LIVE TV channel. The invited experts discussed the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on creation of the Center for Countering Disinformation, and topical issues of fight against fakes and propaganda as well.
In particular, Oleksii Polegkyi mentioned that in recent years the term «strategic narratives» (the way of delivering the certain world view to audience) has become popular in the expert and academic environment that is the state’s task in fact. Analytics, monitoring and identification of fakes are still the basic ones in countering disinformation. «In terms of winning the information warfare our key task is to transfer those key points that we need, to form the own viewpoint, to deliver it, to have a proactive position as well. The issue is not that it’s necessary to create the same fakes, there are much better tools. Irony and humour, for example, «work» in 100 times better».
