Hybrid wars are among the current challenges and factors threatening both the national security of Ukraine and the international security and stability in general.
This issue is particularly topical for Ukraine considering the fact that Russia has been carrying out a hybrid war against our country for years. Escalation of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict took place in 2014 after the temporary occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia and bringing the Russian armed forces into the Ukrainian Donbas. In its war against Ukraine Russia has been using a wide range of instruments of hybrid wars: means of political and economic pressure, propaganda and large-scale information campaigns, carrying out the cyber attacks.
Analyzing the phenomenon and instruments of hybrid wars of the ХХІ century, elaborating the mechanisms to fight against this phenomenon is one of the priority directions of the CPD’s activities.
